AFK Dungeon Mastery on Home

In AFK Dungeon, everyone’s characters can be unique. After all, every tiny decision you make can affect how far your character will get during every rebirth. One such factor that contributes to each character’s uniqueness is the Mastery.

Basically, the Mastery determines which abilities your character favors. For instance, your character can be one that relies on skills to inflict massive damage, or he can use normal attacks and physical skills to brute force his way through the endless hordes of monsters.

Your character will receive a Mastery Point each time he levels up. And, you will gain 4 extra Mastery Points each time your character goes up 10 levels.

Basic Mastery Info

In AFK Dungeon, there are four mastery types that you can choose from, with each one focusing on a different area.

Under each type, multiple branches exist, and every circle under each branch gives your character distinct abilities. But, before you can allocate points on any of the branches under the top circle, you will first need to max it out.

Once you’ve allocated 5 points to the first circle, you can either upgrade the masteries you just unlocked, or you can allocate points to any of the other mastery types.

Lastly, before allocating any mastery points, make sure to tap on each circle first. By doing so, you will be able to read the detailed descriptions of each ability and avoid wasting any of your mastery points.

Types

Just like other games, AFK Dungeon offers different types of abilities, which you will find in the Mastery menu, located at the top-left corner of the screen. As soon as you open the menu, you will see four character ability types; any of which you can choose to master.

But, the unique thing about AFK Dungeon is that you can choose to allocate mastery points on any of the four types at any time—even if you have not mastered the first type you allocated Mastery Points to.

These four character ability types include those of the Warrior, the Knight, the Wizard, and the Rogue.

Warrior

The Warrior mastery type mainly focuses on stats related to your character’s normal attack. However, one circle under this mastery type also strengthens your character’s physical skill damage.

AFK Dungeon Warrior Mastery

The circles under the Warrior mastery type include Strength, Precision, Sharpness, Fast Sword, and Ultra Instinct, which give the following abilities:

  • Strength: Increases your character’s normal attack by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Precision: Increases your character’s crit rate by a percentage. (LVL 1: +5%, Max LVL: +15%)
  • Sharpness: Increases your character’s crit damage by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)

  • Ultra Instinct: Increases your character’s physical skill damage by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)

Knight

The second mastery type, Knight, focuses on the stats that affect your character’s survivability. Aside from increasing your character’s defensive stats, one circle under the Knight mastery also boosts the damage of your holy skills.

AFK Dungeon Knight Mastery

Under the Knight mastery type, there are six circles to consider—Tenacity, Recovery, Fortitude, Vigor, Blessing, and Divinity. These mastery circles give the following abilities:

  • Tenacity: Increases your character’s max HP by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Recovery: Increases your character’s HP regen by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Fortitude: Increases your character’s damage reduction by a percentage. (LVL 1: +1%, Max LVL: +5%)

Wizard

Third of AFK Dungeon’s fours mastery types, the Wizard plays a huge role in your character’s ability to use skills. Allocating points to this mastery type allows your character to use skills more often, and it also increases the damage of skills.

AFK Dungeon Wizard Mastery

Under this mastery type, you can find Willpower, Meditation, Curiosity, Elemental Affinity, and Insight, which have the following effects:

  • Willpower: Increases your character’s max mana by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Meditation: Increases your character’s mana regen by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)

  • Insight: Increases the damage of all of your character’s skills by a percentage. (LVL 1: +5%, Max LVL: +25%)

Rogue

Lastly, the Rogue mastery type makes it easier for your character to earn the different currencies in AFK Dungeon. Similar to the other mastery types, the Rogue type also boosts the damage of one skill type—dark skills.

AFK Dungeon Rogue Mastery

Out of the four mastery types, Rogue has the most branches and circles under it. These include Avarice, Fervor, Interest, Achievements of Past Life, Efficient Investment, Technological Advancement, Weighty Pocket, Memories of Past Life, Agility, and Malice.

These masteries have the following effects:

  • Avarice: Increases the gold that your character acquires in game by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Fervor: Reduces the dungeon cool down time by a percentage. (LVL 1: -10%, Max LVL: -30%)
  • Interest: Increases the gold that your character earns through AFK farming by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Achievements of Past Life: Increases the amount of Rebirth Stones that your character acquires after each rebirth by a percentage. (LVL 1: +5%, Max LVL: +25%)
  • Efficient Investment: Lowers the cost to grow gold by a percentage. (LVL 1: -5%, Max LVL: -25%)
  • Technological Advancement: Lowers the cost to upgrade equipment by a percentage. (LVL 1: -5%, Max LVL: -25%)
  • Weighty Pocket: Increases the item drop rate by a percentage. (LVL 1: +5%, Max LVL: +25%)
  • Memories of Past Life: Increases the Fever Time that your character goes through after each rebirth by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Agility: Increases your character’s movement speed by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)
  • Malice: Increases the damage of all of your character’s dark skills by a percentage. (LVL 1: +10%, Max LVL: +30%)

How Important Are Mastery Points?

Like we said, every decision you make—no matter how small—can affect how far your character can go with each rebirth. This is especially true with Mastery Points as each mastery gives your character a unique ability.

Of course, you can reset any of your mastery types at any time. But, you will have to spend 500 jewels to reset your progress on the specific mastery type. In return, you will recover all Mastery Points that you spent on that specific type.

But even though you can reset your masteries, you should still be careful. After all, having to reset your masteries would be a waste of jewels that you could have used to buy or upgrade something instead.

Strategy

Because there are four mastery types, everyone can combine various abilities from each branch to create their own unique character. But precisely because there are a lot to choose from, it might be difficult to choose which one to prioritize. So, we made this guide to help you until you figure things out.

As you play AFK Dungeon, you will notice that most of your character’s damage comes from his skills. Because of this, we recommend prioritizing the Wizard mastery type. Not only does doing so reduce your skill cooldown times, but it also increases your character’s mana regen, maximum mana, elemental skill damage, and all skill damages.

Once you’ve done that, we recommend focusing on the Rogue mastery type. First, focus on maxing out the Achievement of Past Life mastery as it increases the amount of Rebirth Stones that you get after each rebirth. Then, max out the Memories of Past Life mastery to get a longer Fever Time after each rebirth and the Weighty Pocket mastery to get a higher item drop rate.

After the Rogue mastery type, you can choose between the Warrior or Knight masteries. If you want to increase your character’s normal attack dps (damage per second), then focus on the Warrior type. On the other hand, we recommend focusing on the Knight masteries if you want to increase your character’s defense and survivability.

Once you have maxed out the important masteries, you can now choose whichever you want to upgrade next.
